hi! welcome to my website…

…a little about myself…
i came from a very creative family.
mom… a seamstress and interior decorator,
and dad… a cabinet maker and master wood craftsman.
when i was about 15, my mom took oil painting lessons and created several wonderful works of art.
i went with her on a couple of occasions,
…and a seed was planted.
over the next few years,
with my heightened sense of curiosity,
i learned to create by “osmosis”,
observing mom and dad… creating drawings and paintings, pottery and leather works, fine original draperies and clothing, exquisite pieces of woodwork and artsy photographs.
all while giving God the credit
… it was a true inspiration to me.
i dabbled in drawing over the years,
face painting the kids and their friends… then at craft fairs,
painting flowers and designs on pottery,
and i even took an art appreciation course in college.
wow! seeing the works of the masters really piqued my interest.
the inspiration for where i am now, came when my husband and i moved to colorado.
there i witnessed one of God’s magnificent creations… the rocky mountains.
that inspiration led me to purchase some oil paints, canvases and begin to paint gifts for the family back home in tennessee.
…the passion then took hold.
when we moved back to tennessee a couple of years later, i began to work with my mom,
creating faux finishes, murals and trompe l’oeil for her interior decorating clients.
soon, I had my own clients and was blessed to create wonderful pieces of art on my client’s walls.
i worked mostly on walls and very little on canvas,
and kept busy homeschooling my children and keeping the books for our business.
in 2018, we moved to the high country of north carolina,
another set of mountains… the blue ridge… the appalachians,
inspiration came again, and this time God gave me a gift.
He began to show me how to capture His creations in several different medias.
He taught me to see the abstract shapes in those subjects to make them come alive.
my passion for art,
that once was a seedling,
now has blossomed into a magnificent tree,
with many branches…
and i thank Him daily.
i hope you enjoy!
